L’église St-Barnabas renforce son engagement à soutenir notre banque alimentaire locale organisée par l’église Ste-Elizabeth à North Hatley. Pendant cette période d’isolement et de distanciation sociale, nous voulons tenir compte des besoins de notre communauté qui augmentent, mais qui peuvent être atteints grâce à cette initiative importante. Une collecte de nourriture pour la banque alimentaire aura donc lieu à St-Barnabas de 10h00 à 12h00 le quatrième vendredi de chaque mois. 

Nous vous invitons à faire le don de denrées alimentaires non périssables et de produits ménagers et les déposer sur le trottoir devant l’église St-Barnabas le vendredi 22 mai. Les articles donnés seront emballés et livrés à l’église Ste-Elizabeth le même jour. Dons de denrées non périssables reçues à l’église St-Barnabas  

Boîte fournie à l’extérieur sur les marches de l’église. Aidez-nous à soutenir notre banque alimentaire locale.

Articles suggérés : soupe en conserve, biscuits en boîte, pâtes, sauce pour pâtes, fruits et légumes en conserve, riz, beurre de cacahuète, confiture, céréales, flocons d’avoine, sucre, sel, thon ou saumon en conserve, détergent à vaisselle, essuie-tout, kleenex, produits d’hygiène, savon. 

Dons en espèces reçus avec gratitude. Demandez-nous comment envoyer un virement électronique de fonds.

Over the years St. Barnabas Church has supported our local food bank, operated by St. Elizabeth’s Church, with donated nonperishable food items. Although this has not been a focus for our outreach ministry, our attention is being drawn to it now during this time of isolation/social distancing. There are needs in our community that go unnoticed. Organizers of the food bank have been faithful in providing necessities to several families and now the needs in our area are growing. 

A Fourth Friday Food Drive at St. Barnabas has been organized for next week, May 22nd from 10:00am to 12:00 noon. Assuming this food drive goes well, we will be receiving food and hygiene items the fourth Friday of each month with curb-side drop off at the church. This Friday, Jennifer and I will be outside the church with boxes on the church steps. Please drop your items off and they will be boxed and delivered to St. Elizabeth’s right away. 

If you would prefer to make a financial donation that will be used to cover the costs of fresh produce, meat etc, you may send a check to the church earmarked Food Drive. Please mail to:

If you are setup for online banking, you can make an e-transfer following these steps:

– add Kylie Cote, our treasurer, to your banking contacts with this address: kyliecoteconsulting@gmail.com

– choose your donation amount and add the note “Food Drive”

– write the security question – What is this for?

– write the answer – Relief

– it would be helpful to Kylie if you would follow up with an email to her telling her that you have made a Food Drive donation through online banking.

Nous aimerions transmettre un message d’Elliott du magasin LeBaron ainsi qu’une demande du maire de North Hatley, M. Michael Page.

Si vous venez passer le week-end à North Hatley en venant de l’extérieur du village (de Montréal en particulier), Elliott apprécierait (pour éviter les risques de la propagation de la COVID-19) que vous n’entriez pas dans le magasin. Cela lui fera plaisir de préparer votre commande,  passée par courriel, et celle-ci pourra être ramassée sur la galerie devant le magasin. Ceci est la procédure que toute personne résidente de North Hatley a suivi en quarantaine.

L’épicerie est une entreprise familiale, qui sert la communauté et dont de nombreuses personnes à haut risque dépendent. La discipline dans la communauté a eu pour résultat de garder le village en bonne santé jusqu’à présent, et l’épicerie apprécie les efforts de chacun. Vous qui venez de l’extérieur, embrassez notre philosophie pour notre bien-être à tous.

Dear friends and neighbours,

We would like to pass along a message from Elliott at LeBarons as well as a request from Michael Page, mayor of North Hatley, 

If you’re coming to North Hatley for the weekend from outside of town (Montreal in particular), they would appreciate if you sent your orders by e-mail for porch pick-up rather than enter the store.  

The grocery store is family run and many high risk people rely on it to stay operational. We’ve done a great job keeping the neighbourhood healthy so far and they appreciate everyone’s efforts. This manner of proceeding is the same as was followed by all North Hatley residents who had to quarantine on arriving in North Hatley.

As well, please note that the Mayor of North Hatley, Mr Michael Page, has requested that anyone entering the community bring their own food and supplies and isolate for 14 days.
