Lundi le 21 août 2017 le gouvernement du Québec a avisé la MRC de Memphrémagog que le Plan de gestion que ce dernier lui avait soumis, et qui aurait permis la construction dans la zone inondable à North Hatley, avait été jugé non conforme à sa politique. Le gouvernement a fondé sa décision sur son décret récent interdisant toute nouvelle construction résidentielle, pour une période d’au moins 18 mois, dans les zones inondables de grand courant (zones 0-20 ans).                                                                                 – Paul St-Pierre

On Monday 21 August 2017, the Quebec government informed the MRC de Mémphremagog that the Management Plan (Plan de gestion) it had submitted, which would have made construction possible in the flood zone in North Hatley, was not acceptable to the government. The government based its decision on its recent decree banning all new residential construction, for at least 18 months, in 0-20 year flood zones in the province.                      – Paul St-Pierre
