North Hatley, le 3 juin 2025 – Lors de la séance du conseil du 2 juin, les élus de la municipalité du village de North Hatley ont présenté la démarche de consultation qui servira à la réalisation d’un plan directeur pour le développement du cœur villageois. Ce plan permettra à la municipalité de fixer les grandes lignes de l’aménagement de ce secteur névralgique, notamment en ce qui concerne la consolidation du tissu urbain, de la planification des milieux de vie, des espaces verts et des zones commerciales.
« Cette démarche s’inscrit dans la volonté de la municipalité de bénéficier d’une vision stratégique pour le développement du cœur villageois afin de pouvoir planifier son développement à long terme sur des bases solides, a déclaré Marcella Davis Gerrish, mairesse de North Hatley. Et comme nous le faisons chaque fois que notre municipalité envisage l’avenir du village, nous souhaitons entendre la grande communauté de North Hatley. »
Les citoyens pourront s’exprimer et commenter les propositions présentées par la firme qui a été sélectionnée pour réaliser le plan directeur de trois façons :
En répondant au sondage sur le site http://imaginonsnorthhatley.com entre le 4 et le 30 juin;
En participant à la journée portes ouvertes le 14 juin entre midi et 17h à la salle Lucien-Vachon de l’église Sainte Elisabeth de North Hatley;
En écrivant à l’équipe chargée d’élaborer le plan directeur en utilisant le formulaire sur la plateforme ou en écrivant à vision.plan@northhatley.org
Des rencontres sectorielles auront également lieu en juillet avec des groupes issus de la vie communautaire de North Hatley et des spécialistes dans le développement immobilier pour discuter de questions techniques.
Il y a cinq ans, les citoyens et les élus avaient identifié quatre grandes orientations dans le cadre des travaux du plan stratégique, dont l’une touchait précisément la planification et l’aménagement durable et cohérent du territoire. Les citoyens et élus souhaitaient valoriser les infrastructures publiques, protéger les actifs identitaires du village et les mettre en valeur et adopter un aménagement raisonné, réfléchi et respectueux des valeurs du village. Le plan directeur, qui vient opérationnaliser ces orientations stratégiques qui avaient été exprimées par la grande communauté de North Hatley.
Le plan stratégique sera présenté aux instances du village le 11 août (CCUP et séance du conseil) et sera adopté au début de l’automne par le conseil.
North Hatley, June 2, 2025 – At the June 2nd council meeting, council members of the Municipality of the Village of North Hatley presented the consultation process that will be used to produce a master plan for the development of the village core. This plan will enable the municipality to establish the broad outlines for the development of this key sector, particularly with regard to the consolidation of the urban fabric, the planning of community living, green spaces and commercial zones.
“This process is part of the municipality’s desire to benefit from a strategic vision for the development of the village core so that we can plan its long-term development on a solid foundation,” said Marcella Davis Gerrish, Mayor of North Hatley. And as we do every time our municipality considers the future of the village, we want to hear from the greater North Hatley community.”
Citizens will be able to express themselves and comment on the proposals presented by the firm selected to produce the master plan in three ways:
1. By completing the survey on http://imaginonsnorthhatley.com between June 4th and 30th;
2. By attending the open house on June 14th between noon and 5 p.m. at the Lucien-Vachon hall of North Hatley’s Sainte Elisabeth church;
3. By writing to the team responsible for developing the master plan using the online form or by writing to vision.plan@northhatley.org.
Focus group meetings will also be held in July with North Hatley community groups and real estate development specialists to discuss technical issues.
Five years ago, citizens and elected officials identified four major priorities as part of the strategic plan process, one of which specifically concerned sustainable and coherent land-use planning and development. Residents and elected officials wanted to enhance public infrastructures, protect and promote the village’s identity assets, and adopt a reasoned, thoughtful approach to development that was respectful of the village’s values. The master plan implements these strategic orientations, which were expressed by the greater North Hatley community.
The strategic plan will be presented to concerned committee members and council on August 11th and will be adopted by council in early autumn.
