Suite à une demande d’une de nos citoyennes à l’égard des avancements des travaux de construction du pont de North Hatley, le maire Page lui a fait suivre la mise à jour suivante de Bruno Bélisle, sécrétaire-trésorier adjoint :
« L’échéancier du pont va bon train. Malgré certains petits pépins, ils visent une ouverture du pont pour Noël. Le pavage temporaire est prévu pour le 20 décembre. Les anciens ponts avaient été enterrés au lieu d’être enlevés, ils ont retrouvé des arbres etc. Ils doivent composer avec la température pour le coulage du béton, mais tout semble bien aller.
« Le message véhiculé est que les travaux se déroulent pour permettre une ouverture du pont pour noël.
« Un panneau orange sera installé au coin de la 143 et 108 (en provenance de Lennoxville) pour indiquer les directions à suivre.
« L’horaire de passage des bateaux est devancé à 18h30.
« J’ai demandé à ce que les travailleurs ne donnent pas trop d’informations aux citoyens et curieux. Qu’on les oriente soit au MTQ Estrie ou à la Municipalité.
« Le site web sera mis à jour pour les dernières informations.
« Je te laisse transférer ce courriel au conseil. »

Following a request from a concerned citizen regarding the status of the bridge construction, Mayor Page sent the following update provided to him by Bruno Bélisle, Assistant Secretary-Treasurer:

“The construction project is on schedule. While there have been a few minor issues, the bridge is scheduled to be open for Christmas. Temporary paving is scheduled for December 20th. The old bridges had been buried rather than taken away. They have found trees etc. They have to deal with the temperature in pouring the concrete, but all seems to be going well.
“The message being transmitted is that the work is being done so as to allow for the bridge to be open for Christmas.
“An orange panel will be installed at the corner of the 143 and the 108 (coming from Lennoxville) to indicate what direction to take.
“The timetable for the passage of boats has been moved ahead to 6:30p.m.
“I have asked that the workers not give too much information to the citizens and the curious and that they be redirected to the MTQ Estrie or the municipality.
