Glen Villa, le jardin de Norman et Pat Webster à North Hatley, accueillera des visiteurs le 20 juillet dans le cadre d’une activité de financement pour la Fondation Massawippi.
Venez vous promener dans The Lower Garden et sur la China Terrace, vous faire surprendre dans une réinterprétation de l’hôtel de villégiature, l’Auberge Glen Villa. Admirez The Aqueduct, un élément aquatique contemporain ou déambulez dans The Asian Meadow où un pont en zigzag permet de garder à distance les forces maléfiques. Attardez-vous dans The Upper Room, un jardin classique d’inspiration virginienne niché dans les bois et moquez-vous du « Grass Snake ». Prenez un moment de détente au Skating Pond, un endroit tranquille où la nature a carte blanche.
Soyez parmi les premiers à explorer Timelines, un sentier de 3 km avec des installations artistiques qui serpentent à travers champs et forêts, passant devant La Seigneurie et La Grande Allée. Observez le temps qui passe au Sundial ou admirez la magie du Sugarcamp d’Orin, où les feuilles d’érable surdimensionnées se balancent dans la brise.
Venez visiter ces merveilleux jardins (accessibles au public une seule fois par an !) et en ce faisant soutenir votre organisation communautaire !
Les billets pour les visites du matin (9h-12h30) ou de l’après-midi (12h30-4h30) coûtent 25 $ et peuvent être achetés à l’avance auprès de la Fondation Massawippi à l’adresse https://massawippi.org/fr/event/visite-du-jardin-glen-villa/. Des brochures en français et en anglais vous guideront à travers le jardin et le long du sentier des Timelines. Des bénévoles seront également présents pour vous aider.
La Fondation Massawippi (FMF) soutient des activités profitant aux habitants de la vallée Massawippi. Fondée en 2011, la Fondation a déjà conservé 1 200 acres de forêt vierge et construit 8 km de sentiers ouverts au public.

Glen Villa, Norman and Pat Webster’s North Hatley garden, is welcoming visitors on July 20 as a fundraiser for the Massawippi Foundation.
Come and wander through the Lower Garden and the China Terrace, a re-imagining of the resort hotel, Glen Villa Inn. Admire the Aqueduct, a contemporary water feature or the Asian Meadow where a zig-zag bridge keeps evil spirits at bay. Linger in The Upper Room, a formal garden set within the woods and laugh at the Grass Snake. Or simply relax by the Skating Pond, a quiet spot where nature has free rein.
Be among the first to explore Timelines, a 3 km trail with art installations that winds through fields and forest, past La Seigneurie and La Grande Allée. Contemplate the passage of time at the Sundial or take in the magic at Orin’s Sugarcamp, where oversized maple leaves sway in the breeze.
Come for a visit (these gardens are only open to the public once a year) and support your community organization!
Tickets for morning (9-12:30) or afternoon (12:30m- 4) visits cost $25 and can be purchased in advance through the Massawippi Foundation at https://massawippi.org/event/open-garden-day-at-glen-villa/. Brochures in French and English guide you through the garden and along the Timelines trail, and volunteers stationed throughout are there to help.
